Scott Cawthon Announces Fazbear Fanverse, Makes Several Fan Games Official
The world of Five Nights at Freddy’s keeps growing. Scott Cawthon, the creator of the super-popular series, has announced a new initiative called Fazbear Fanverse. The goal? Promote several fan games, get official merchandise of them, and hopefully get console and mobile ports of each game.
So how is this going to work? Well, Scott has picked a group of fan games that he liked, and each game is either getting remade or reworked to remove any elements that would cause copyright issues. They will still get released for free, but the goal is to bundle them together and get releases on other platforms. Scott has chosen the following games to be part of the first wave:
- Five Nights at Candy’s 4, by Emil
- The Joy of Creation: Ignited Collection, by Nikson
- Popgoes Evergreen, by Kane
- One Night at Flumpty’s 3, by Jonochrome
- Five Nights at Freddy’s Remake, by Phisnom
While there aren’t too many other details on this yet, such as when we can expect these games, it’s still a pretty solid move from Scott. It makes several fans feel like they’re contributing even more to the series, and allows people to get their hands on these games where they normally wouldn’t be able to. Should they do well, the hope is to get even more fan games into even more collections. Ultimately, it seems like a solid plan, and one that should be encouraged.
While there’s no details on when we can learn more about Fazbear Fanverse, the Five Nights at Freddy’s games are available on Steam, including the most recent entry Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted, are available on Steam.
