Stardew Like RPG Monster Harvest Is Pokémon GROW

Probably the most charming announcement from the Future Game Show was Monster Harvest. It’s not hard to see where the inspiration for this series comes from. With the bright and colorful pixel art of Stardew Valley and the JRPG elements of Monster Rancher, all the game needs now is to be set on an island full of cute animal villagers for the cool-cute-fun game trifecta to be complete.

Monster Harvest is set in the town of Planimal Point, where the protagonist goes in order to plant Planimals. A similar premise as Slime Rancher, gameplay consists not only of tending to your crop of lovable critters, but also going out and exploring the world around you. But with a limited amount of time and energy per day, you must decide which chores you need to focus on most before going out into the field.

Unlike Stardew Valley, where you may only use the fruits and vegetables of your labor to sell, Monster Harvest lets you engage a lot more with your seasonal yield. Grow different Planimals, mix and mutate, and soon enough you have a team ready for action. Different seasons make for different Planimals, and your team will have to adapt as the game goes on.

There’s no release date yet, but Monster Harvest will be available on the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. For more information, you can check out their Discord by clicking here.
