If you’ve ever ask yourself, “what if Sonic had a gun,” but never got around to playing that Shadow the Hedgehog game, then today’s Daily Dose is for you. Created by Langonier Two from itch.io is Boom Blaster. An action platformer in the style of a Newgrounds game, Boom Blaster is the synthesis of Sonic the Hedgehog and DOOM.

In Boom Blaster you play as one of three heroes. Armed with a Metroid-style arm cannon, you must fight your way through the nightmarish cyberpunk or bio-organic (or a mix of both) levels, killing robots and mutants (or a mix of both) alike. With extremely limited health and a gun that functions like the stamina bar in Dark Souls, the combat in Boom Blaster is a lot harder then it first appears.

You can try out a demo for Boom Blaster by clicking here. And if you like the demo as much as I did, you can buy the full game, on sale now, here.
