Cyberpunk Scares The Medium Release Date Back a Month

Bloober Team has announced that they’re pushing The Medium back to 2021, after the game was originally supposed to come out in December. The new release date is set for January 28th, 2021, so at least you’re not waiting too long.

In an announcement post on Twitter, Bloober Team gave two major reasons for the delay. One of them is, of course, COVID-19. The virus has been hitting Poland particularly hard over the last month, and it makes sense that the developers likely want to limit time in the office and move to working from home.

However, the other reason given is “the current schedule of other games on the market.” The Medium was originally supposed to release on December 10th, but recently it was announced that Cyberpunk 2077 would be delayed to that day as well. Considering Cyberpunk 2077 is easily one of the most anticipated games of the year, it doesn’t seem like a fantastic idea to go up against it. The Medium isn’t the first game to be pushed back for this reason, space fighter roguelike Everspace 2 also pushed back its release date to avoid Cyberpunk 2077.

If you’re still excited for The Medium then you can add it to your wishlist here and grab it when it launches on PC and Xbox Series X|S on January 28th, 2021.
