Free Text-based Cyberpunk Game, Cyberpunkdreams, Hits Steam This Summer

Sure you could play the biggest cyberpunk games of the year, but why not check out something a little different? Cyberpunkdreams will be hitting Steam this summer, offering a free world to read about.

The game puts you in the role of a random citizen in the city of Cincinnati, in the year 2090. Unfortunately, you have no clue why you’re there, how you got there, and you have little more on you other than a weapon and the clothes on your back. Your goal is to get to the top of the food chain, though how you do so is all up to you. At the very least there’s plenty of different ways, as the game will offer up new stories every month and have plenty of limited-time events.

Cyberpunkdreams has been in development since 2013 and will be a free-to-play text-based game. While the game will be completely free, the developers plan to sell microtransactions to support it. As you may expect from a text-based game, you’ll mostly be spending your time reading words and choosing how you want to respond, earning stats and character items along the way as you do so. If you’re looking for something a little cyberpunkey to do, this may be where to start.

If you’re interested in Cyberpunkdreams, you can add the game to your Steam wishlist here.
