Create The Custom Case Of Your Dreams With The Cyberpunk 2077 Modding Contest
I’ve never really gotten into custom case modding. It’s a wonderful fantastic world of creativity and invention that I really don’t have the talent for. To prove it, this is my actual current rig:
Are those custom LED lights with multiple settings? I have no idea. I bought the case because it was on sale. Is the lack of a side panel an aesthetic choice? Or did I just lose it somehow when I moved? I decline to answer that. Even if I had all the money in the world, the most amount of customization I’d do is paint it red so it goes faster.
However, the creatives out there now have the chance to realize the custom case of their dreams. Thanks to the good people at Alienware, Nvidia, and CD Projekt Red, the Cyberpunk 2077 contest is challenging fans to create designs based on the game. How do you style cases on a game that isn’t out yet? Worry not, they created a style guide available on the competition’s website. There are a lot of options on it, so don’t just glue some gears on it and call it steampunk.
You don’t have to actually build the case to win. Just send in your designs, and five winners will be picked from the bunch based on style, creativity, and feasibility. The winners will then all have their dream cases built by professional nerds. From there, one grand winner will be selected. The grand prize is a new Alienware Aurora PC with various peripherals. The 4 runners up receive Alienware Area-51m laptops with headphones.
So if you want to participate, head on over to the contest’s website to learn more. And while you’re at it, head on over to the Cyberpunk 2077 Steam page and add it to your wishlist. The game drops September 16th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
