Exit The Gungeon Drops On Steam/Switch With Snazzy Launch Trailer

Sooo this story is actually a few days old. I missed a lot of the stuff the last few days because DOOM Eternal codes went out and I’ve been working on that review. Definitely working, not at all just playing non-stop and forgetting I have a job. So today I’m confronting the sober reality of my overflowing to-do pile, and the cool stuff I might have missed between ripping and tearing. And it turns out, there was a whole other game I could be jumping and shooting in this week! A spin-off of the hit gungeon-crawler Enter the Gungeon, Exit the Gungeon takes the series in a new direction by going in a new direction.

Now, this isn’t technically a new release. Exit the Gungeon released in 2019 on Apple Arcade. This doesn’t really apply to me, since that’s like saying the game previously came out for Apple Arcade is like saying my wife got it for me for Hanukkah. I’m not Jewish, and a life of video game journalism has ensured that I’m definitely dying alone. But hey, I’ll have all my Steam library to keep me company. And with Exit the Gungeon now being part of that, it’s like one more friend tucking me in for the long goodnight. Here’s more about the game from the Offical Press Release:

Armed with an ever-changing weapon, an insatiable need to loot, and the trusty dodge roll, each of our heroes must ascend and escape via their own unique route of increasingly perilous elevators. Battle against the last and most bitter of the Gundead at a frantic pace, slowing down just long enough to chat with some familiar faces… and a few new ones. Shifting rooms, enemies, bosses, bizarre weapons and items all combine to ensure that no two attempts to Exit the Gungeon are the same.

The latest update to Exit the Gungeon brings an arsenal of additions, updates, and tweaks to the celebrated bullet hell dungeon climber. These modifications represent a substantial overhaul to Exit the Gungeon for players on Apple Arcade and new Gungeoneers jumping in on Nintendo Switch and Steam today.
