THE LAST OF US PART II STORY TRAILER RELEASED

At long last, The Last of Us Part II is going to be released. To warm the fans up for the highly anticipated sequel, a new trailer hinting at what the story will entail has just dropped today. In light of the recent leaks, this trailer will give you more spoiler free information about what this game has in store. 

The trailer for The Last of Us Part II shows a lot of stuff we already knew about. Horse riding and shotguns bows and arrows and brutal melee combat. Really brutal melee combat. As you may remember from the first game, The Last of Us had an innovative melee system known as “punch lasers,” where Joel’s fist would shoot invisible lasers in all directions to see what the best melee takedown would be. From the looks of this trailer, which shows a number of executions, that system remains. 

As far as story content, there isn’t a whole lot of specifics here. The Last of Us Part II trailer shows a grown up Ellie, of course, as well as a very grown up Joel. There are a number of new characters shown as well, some we have seen in past trailers, some we have not. Overall, the story content in this trailer is vague at best. Something about leaving Jackson city. Some stuff about dealing with past actions. Mostly stuff that we won’t know about until we see them in the context of the rest of the game, which is fine. This is just a trailer, after all.
