Pathfinder: Wrather of the Righteous Reaches $1M On Kickstarter, More Stretch Goals to Come

When I wrote about Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous just 9 days ago, it was reaching its funding goal faster than I could type up the story. Well, it seems like reaching its $300,000 initial goal hasn’t changed a thing. The Kickstarter has now reached over $1 million in funding. With 26 days to go, it’s showed no signs of slowing down.

The followup to Pathfinder: Kingmaker, Wrath of the Righteous promises many new features and improvements to deliver a truly unique RPG in the Pathfinder world. Players can follow “Mythic Paths,” a novel take on moral choices and class building that allows you to actually become the creatures of legend. In response to the meteoric success, the team at Owlcat Games has unveiled an expanding list of stretch goals. Watching the new content constantly expand has been amazing. Here’s a list of what players can now expect from the final product:

  • Warpriest class mixing caster and warrior
  • Woljif Jefto “thiefling” companion
  • Mounted combat and Cavalier class
  • Dismemberment (dank)
  • Swarm-That Walks and Gold Dragon Mythic Paths
  • One of three animal-kin races, voted on by the community
  • Evolving animal companions
  • Skald class
  • An orchestra to perform the soundtrack

Next on the list at the $1.15m mark is “doubled reactivity.” This means the NPCs will have twice the amount of reactions to your race, class, diety, choices, etc. Given how much these games usually have, that’s an incredible amount of content. And what’s next after that? It’s a mystery! Owlcat has chosen to reveal their stretch goals in steps. With how much money is still pouring into the project, I’d predict we still have plenty more to see.

It’s nice to let yourself get swept up in the hype every once in a while. For Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, I’m letting myself get excited. It’s great to see the fans come together and support a project that truly looks to deliver something special.
