A Nu Cheeki Breeki, The First Trailer For S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Has Finally Been Released
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has finally been announced! As part of the Xbox Games Showcase, the cult classic survival horror is revealed to be arriving sometime next year. Of course, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will actually be the third game in this series, but this iteration comes over ten years after the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, and thus has garnered a lot of excitement from the community.
For those who have not yet played a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game, the series is based off of a sci-fi novel from the 70’s called Roadside Picnic. The story involves a mysterious area called The Zone, surrounding the Chernobyl Power Plant. The Zone is a place where the laws of reality slip away, and is filled with dangerous anomalies (such as a sudden burst of flame or a tiny singularity) as well as mutants. However, it’s also full of artifacts that contain these same unusual properties, and they are extremely valuable.
You play as a S.T.A.L.K.E.R., which stands for Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers, and Robbers. You embody any and every one of those traits as you explore The Zone. The series is largely open world, allowing for extensive exploration. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is known for its very realistic gun mechanics, and powerful atmosphere, both of which heightens the terror of The Zone.
