Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Dropped This Week
If you are a fan of the Ghostbusters franchise, there’s a great piece of news coming your way. Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed launched earlier this week. The 4v1 asymmetrical multiplayer is a family-friendly E for Everyone, and you can find it with full crossplay support on the Epic Games Store, the PlayStation 4 and 5, the Xbox Series X|S, and the Xbox One. It retails for $39.99 or regional equivalent.
Ray and Winston open the Firehouse for the player, setting up a new generation of Ghostbusters. Play as part of a team of green Ghostbusters or as a Ghost. Whether it’s alone, with up to four friends, or with AI-assisted play, there are all sorts of ways to experience bustin’. The more you play, the more story you unlock (complete with cutscenes). Iconic places and objects from the films make appearances, including the Firehouse and Ray’s Occult Books serving as the player hub. Both Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore receive voice-over talent from their original actors.
Use your Proton Packs, PKE Meters, and Ghost Traps to subdue the Ghost. Working together, you can close the rifts that allow the Ghost to spawn. As you progress as a Ghostbuster, you’ll acquire new cosmetics and upgrades since, after all, you can’t fight slime if you ain’t cute. The Ghosts can possess objects, slime everything in the vicinity, and be a general source of ruckus. Five Ghosts offer unique abilities and their own ectoplasmic minions. Frighten and terrorize the populace while you’re at it, too.
