Nioh 2’s New Story Trailer Shows Off Cast Of Yokai Slaying Badasses

So far, Nioh 2 is my most anticipated game of 2020. More than The Last of Us 2, more than Dying Light 2, more than GhostWire: Tokyo. The only thing that could unseat it at this point is a surprise release of Total War: Warhammer 3 (I want my ogre boys now). As we come closer and closer to the March 13th launch date, my hype only grows. And with the release of this new story trailer, I’m all in. Just look at this adorable inoshishi!

Seriously, don’t call me for a week after Nioh 2 comes out. I spent close to 100 hours in the original Nioh, and still get the compulsion to pick it up from time to time. With Nioh 2‘s inclusion of multiplayer, I expect that number to double. The new weapons look dope, the Yokai form is badass, and from the trailers the faster combat seems to give the game’s build options more weight. I mean, I’m still just going to use the heaviest axe I can find. That’s how I do my Soulslikes.

Nioh 2 releases March 13th exclusively for the PlayStation 4. No word yet on if the game will get a PC port. If you didn’t play the first Nioh and worried you won’t get what’s going on, don’t fret. Nioh 2 is a prequel with a whole new time period and set of characters. I’d still recommend getting the first, as the Nioh: Complete Edition can be picked up now on Steam for just $17.50. Given the serious amount of content you can get out of it, it’s definitely worth even the $50 regular asking price.
