Hello, you glorious gluttons for all things indie horror! Are you just starving for the newest of the new, the most unknownest of the unknown? If so, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome to the Ultra-Indie Daily Dose! In this series, we’re going to pick a new game every day from an indie horror creator you’ve probably never heard of. No million-dollar budgets or factory productions. This is the space for the little guy with not but a developer toolkit and a dream. So if you’re down to roll the dice on something different, then stick around and check it out!

If you like punching demons and throwing ninja stars, this game may be for you. Today’s Daily Dose is called VESSEL: Faceless Eternities, by itch developer Selfish Dream. It’s a fairly simple game where you explore a dark labyrinthine dungeon full of demons. A tale as old as time.

What sets VESSEL: Faceless Eternities apart is an incredible visual style. With a color palette consisting of black and sickly yellow,  VESSEL: Faceless Eternities looks like it takes place in the same universe as EYE: Divine Cybermancy. I especially liked the atmosphere of the starting courtyard area. The glitchy visuals created an all the more unsettling feeling as I explored the game.

The gameplay is a kind of slower, simplified HEXEN. You’ve got a few projectile weapons, consisting of a magic bolt and shuriken, and the infinite ammo fist. The enemies are not all too challenging, but if Selfish Dream expands upon the idea, I can see a lot of potential for something truly awesome and terrifying.
