Charon’s Staircase Announces October Launch

Charon’s Staircase, the upcoming first-person horror title from SOEDESCO and Indigo Studios, will launch this October. The team will announce the actual date closer to the time of release, and you can purchase it in digital and physical formats. Find it on the PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and Amazon), the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch.

Set in the 1970s, the player takes control of Desmond, an agent of The Ministry. In the past, The Ministry ruled with an iron fist committing various atrocities during the most totalitarian parts of the regime. Eager to join the European Union, The Ministry seeks to clean up its act and cover up its past. What Desmond finds, however, may force him to reveal the truth to the world of Project Alpha.

Designed with European aesthetics from the 1970s in mind, you’ll be able to wander Oack Grove, solve its mysteries and puzzles, and hopefully escape with your life. For now, though, you can show your support by Wishlisting the game on Steam or your storefront of choice. Don’t forget to follow to keep up with the latest news (or just check back with us here at Dread XP).

There is a wonderfully grimy aesthetic going on in Charon’s Staircase.

They also seek to emphasize the drama in their scripts and create evocative original soundtracks. Indigo announced Charon’s Staircase in a trailer last month, estimating a Q4 release.
