Cosmic Horror Gives Way to Cosmic Love in Milky Way Prince – The Vampire Star
We all hope that the special someone may fall into our lives and make things better. In the case of Milky Way Prince – The Vampire Star that special someone literally falls out of the sky and into the protagonist’s life. Just, you know, they may not be as special as one would hope.
You’ll play as Nuki, a man who’s living a normal life. One day he watches a star drop out of the sky, and rushes to go check the impact site. Only instead of destruction, he finds Sune, who appears to have literally dropped out of heaven. Sune may be an interstellar vampire, but he also has desires. Specifically, he desires your booty. So you’ll play as Nuki, navigating this weird cosmic relationship and trying to keep things happy.
There’s just one problem: this isn’t exactly a great relationship. Milky Way Prince notes that the relationship between Nuki and Sune contains quite a bit of abuse. Lorenzo Redaelli, who did almost all of the work on the game, says that the story is semi-autobiographical and draws from his own experiences. He also comments that it contains real strategies abusers use, such as “rage tests” and “love bombing.” It certainly seems like a cosmic space vampire is the last thing you want to be in an abusive relationship with.
If you want to step into the world of Milky Way Prince – The Vampire Star then you can add the game to your wishlist ahead of its August 13th PC release. It’s also hitting consoles at a later date.
