Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition Lets You Play as Vergil
While the original release of Devil May Cry 5 let you take control of three demon hunters, specifically Dante, Nero, and the all-new V, it lacked one we all needed. Vergil has been added in special editions of several past Devil May Cry games, and it seems that Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition is continuing that trend.
Announced at the recent Sony PlayStation 5 event, Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition is an updated re-release of the original game. The biggest new feature? Getting to play as Vergil. While Capcom hasn’t said if Vergil will get his own campaign or just crash other people’s campaigns, we did get a chance to see the character in action. He comes with his signature katana and the ability to summon a demon that copies all of the moves that he does. It should make short work of demons.
In addition to Vergil, Devil May Cry: Special Edition will come with some new gameplay modes. A turbo mode will kick the game’s speed up to 1.2x, letting you experience the game faster. It’s a fan favorite to see if they can still keep up with the already fast and hectic combat at the new speed. There’s also an all new Legendary Dark Knight difficulty, which adds in more enemies to each encounter. The graphics have also received a substantial buff, with elements like ray tracing make the game look even better. Capcom noted that PlayStation 5 users can either chose to run the game at 4k at 30 fps, 1080p at 60fps, or with the original graphics at 120fps.
Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition will be a PlayStation 5 launch game on November 12th. You can also purchase Vergil as DLC for other versions of the game.
