Powerfully Absurd Game Frog Fractions Releases Secret Sequel Through New DLC
If the idea of a frog-based math game doesn’t strike you as interesting, let me first say that the Steam page has a content warning due to “mild sexual references.” That shoud be the first hint that Frog Fractions is no ordinary educational game. Recently uploaded to Steam by Twinbeard Inc., Frog Fractions: Game of the Decade Edition has become a surprise hit, and for good reason.
Frog Fractions is a game where you play as a frog who eats various bugs, each bug assigned a fraction. Protecting your apples from these bugs by means of attacking with your tongue, Frog Fractions is “in the vein of Missile Command.” Also, the fractions play basically no part in the game. You don’t do any math, just add up the fractions as your score for some reason.
The game is bizarre and could easily be confused for one of those weird algorithmically generated kids games where you do dental surgery on Ella from Frozen (CW: EXTREMELY NSFW, link to the site here, for those curious). But as you progress further through the weird world of Frog Fractions: GotDE, you soon realize there is something more going on. Not quite to the same degree, nor as scary, but the game is similar to Doki Doki Literature Club. I’d encourage you to try it out and see for yourself, because it’s good and truly ridiculous.
Anyways, the real news about this game is the DLC. Frog Fractions: GotDE – Hop’s Iconic Hat is a cosmetic DLC that adds a snazzy new cap for the frog protagonist. Or at least, that’s what it appears to be. Initially reported by Jonathan Bolding of PC Gamer, who previously theorized that the DLC was Frog Fractions 3, he soon discovered that Hop’s Iconic Hat is actually Frog Fractions 4.
