Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife Brings the Spooky Side of World of Darkness to VR
World of Darkness is likely best known for Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse. However, there’s several more Species: The Word games floating around. Now one of them is coming to VR with Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife.
You play as a Wraith, which is someone who has the unfortunate problem of being trapped between life and the afterlife. You’ll find yourself in The Barclay Mansion, a modern Hollywood mansion that has quite a bit of history. Being Hollywood, this history means a lot of unfortunate secrets as well. You’ll need to use your powers as a Wraith to explore the mansion, uncover the secrets, and try not to be killed by other spirits along the way. At least, being a Wraith, death isn’t the end, so you don’t have to worry about staying dead.
World of Darkness has been seeing quite a few video game adaptions lately. This has been in both bigger games, like Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 and Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood to smaller projects such as Vampire: The Masquerade – Shadows of New York and Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Heart of the Forest. Notably this is the first Wraith: The Oblivion video game, and the first non-Vampire or Werewolf game since 2017’s Mage: The Ascension – Refuge.
Wraith: The Oblivion – Afterlife will be coming out in 2021 for Oculus Rift and Quest, HTC Vive, Valve Index, and PlayStation VR. You can add it to your wishlist here.
