Need New Content? Here Are 3 Afro-Latinx Streamers We Love

Video games would be very different without their communities. And when it comes to communities, this little running column has been dedicated to highliting Hispanics in the video games industry for a few entries. And yet, we have not done a feature on a sector of the industry which provides a sense of community like no other: streamers and content creators. I aim to remedy that today: inspired by none other than Latinxs in Gaming, here are 3 Afro-Latinx Streamers we love.

Friskk

Gotta start with Friskk. I mean, not only is she a tremendously cool streamer, she’s also a fog whisperer. Her streams are lighthearted, fun and full of positivity. And she plays a heck of a lot of Dead by Deadlight. She was recently brought onboard Twitch as Creator Content Specialist.

By her own account, she will be “working to elevate and celebrate all the good things creators are doing on Twitch”. Do you need any more incentives to watch her content? She’s parent to some of the cutest pooches on the net. What more could you ask from Afro-Latinx streamers? Not much, I’d say.

REDinFamy

The Master Geektress herself, watching her play Ghost of Tsushima is a treat to behold. Aside from her own YouTube channel, you can catch her on Twitch as well. Speaking of GoT (the real good one, not that HBO stuff), that’s part of her Backlog Crawler series.

She also did a playthrough of Borderlands 3, which to be honest, is my best experience of the game so far. Partly because she’s infinitely better at it than I will ever be, but also partly due to her hilarious commentary. No Afro-Latinx streamers list is complete without her.

Erin Ashley Simon

If you watch eSports at all, then you’ve probably seen Erin around. XSET, VENN, Twitch, YouTube, podcasts, she’s done it all. Bringing a huge positive influence on representation, Erin has worked with AT&T, Nike, and more.

Big-name sponsors and partners not impressive enough for ya? Then you should check her Escape from Tarkov streams. A sniper like no other, Erin’s mix of strategy in-game and lively commentary with her community makes her my go-to streamer for hilarious military sim action when I need a laugh.
