Binary Smoke Shows off a Dark yet Colorful Future
Today during an Epic Games Showcase Binary Smoke was announced, giving us the first look at a possible future.
The trailer shows off the game world, a dark dystopian future where the hope of a singularity would bring everyone together. Unfortunately, the singularity instead produced a race of super-powered digital code known as Binaries, and they chose to enslave humanity rather than help it. Thankfully one of the Binaries is going rogue, and she’ll be attempting to save humanity. Hopefully, before the other Binaries manage to completely destroy them.
While the trailer was mostly devoted to showing the story, we did get to see some clips of gameplay in the trailer. Binary Smoke is a top-down action game where you’ll play as the rogue Binary. She has several superpowers, some of which can be seen in the trailer. At one point she puts up an energy shield that reflects bullets, while another has her activate a lightning trap that fries a few police officers. It really looks like an enjoyable experience, and as the developer’s first game hopefully a winner.
