Hideo Kojima and Junji Ito Possibly Teaming Up For Kojima’s Next Project

When we lost Silent Hills one of the more unfortunate things we lost was the future where Hideo Kojima got to direct a Silent Hill game. One bit of news that was revealed after the project was canceled that horror manga artist Junji Ito was also attached to the project. Now it seems that the two may be teaming up again.

In a Comic-Con interview, Ito talked about how he was aware of Kojima’s next project, and that he was invited to work on it. but he currently has no details on it other than it’s “horror-based.” His full quote is as follows:

I do know director Kojima and we have been in conversation that he may have a horror-based game that he may be doing, and so he has invited me to work on that, but there are no details on it yet.

While it’s not conformation of anything particually exciting, it’s still rad to know both that Kojima is working on a horror game and that he may be bringing Ito into it. His original version of Silent Hills also had Guillermo del Toro attached to it to help direct, and Norman Reedus acting as the main character, although he would later go on to start in Death Stranding. Gears of War designer Cliff Blezinski was also asked to work on Silent Hills, but he turned it down, stating that he’d rather work on a new IP.

    I’m kind of confused…

Why do some articles use Disqus, some use a weird wordpress format, and this one has you fill out your name and address?

Just stick with Disqus, my dudes. Simple, easy
